The second Zijin salon was successfully held in Nanjing from September 8 to 13,2019. It is jointly organized by Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, KU-Leuven in Belgium, and Darmstadt University of technology in Germany, and supported by Overseas Expertise Introduction Center for Discipline Innovation of key technologies for sustainable manufacturing (111 program). Thirteen well-known machinery experts from Germany, Japan, Belgium, Denmark, the United States, Singapore, Hungary and other countries participated in the salon, including 7 academicians of the International Academy of production engineering sciences (CIRP) (3 were the chairman of CIRP and 1 is currently the vice chairman of CIRP).

The “Zijin Salon 2019” focused on two hot issues of composite processing technology, technology and information integration in production engineering. This salon discussed the core technologies and future development trends. All the experts joined in the brainstorming and discussed the opportunities of international cooperation in these fields. 

On the basis of the success of the first Zijin salon 2018, the seminar further focused on the theme and conducted in-depth discussion. The salon 2019 has played a promoting role in grasping the international development frontier and application needs of the current mechanical field, and also playing an important and positive role in expanding the international influence of school manufacturing discipline.
